Thoughts on Today – 2/26

February 26

Thought for the day: “Creative work is play. It is free speculation using the materials of one’s chosen form.” – Stephen Nachmanovitch

Birthdays: Victor Hugo, Christopher Marlowe

Do you know who Victor Hugo is? You should. His most famous work is all over the place right now – Les Miserables. But he wrote so much more. In addition to his novels, he was a poet and an artist and friends with musicians like Listz. Take a look at him and his works. And Christopher Marlowe – a dramatist and contemporary of Shakespeare.

Tips and Teasers: This  is National Tell a Fairy Tale Day. What is your favorite fairy tale or story of all time? Why? What makes it so memorable? Write a character who could fit into the story and rewrite it with that character.
