My best friend, and fellow writer, Misty Simon, and I have been talking a lot lately about where we are with our writing and where we’re going? We’ve both been published multiple times and we both love writing what we do, but we want more. We got the brass ring, but we really want the gold one. So what do we do?
We keep writing. And learning. And working. Yep, that’s all there is to it.
Yes, we often feel like quitting. All writers do. You write what you believe is a good story. You send it out. You get rejected. You feel like you’re beating your head against a brick wall. But, according to Misty, sooner or later, you’re going to hit it often enough to break a hole through that darned wall and get somewhere.
So that’s what we’re doing. We’re writing the best stories we can. We’re sending them out. We’re taking workshops and learning. We’re committed to doing what we can to make it in this business, but above all, we’re writing. And that’s the best thing a writer can do.
